Baccarat variation #9318 stands out in the crowded world of baccarat games due to its distinct rule set centered around a dynamic targeting system. Unlike traditional baccarat where the goal is simply to play on the Player, Banker, or a Tie, this version introduces a rotating 'target hand' concept. At the start of each shoe, the dealer designates a specific hand (Player or Banker) that must win a predetermined number of rounds—typically three—before the shoe resets. This adds a strategic layer for players who can track the target hand's progress and adjust their plays accordingly.
The game uses eight standard decks shuffled together, and the card values remain the same: number cards are worth their face value, face cards and tens are worth zero, and Aces count as one. However, the twist is that when the target hand achieves its third win, the shoe enters a 'bonus round' where payouts on that hand increase by 50%. This creates a compelling risk-reward dynamic that appeals to both casual players and high rollers looking for extra volatility.
Playing baccarat variation #9318 follows the standard dealing procedure: two cards are dealt to the Player and two to the Banker. A third card may be drawn based on the usual baccarat drawing rules (e.g., Player draws on 0-5, stands on 6-7; Banker draws according to a more complex chart). The hand with a total closest to nine wins. However, the target hand mechanic changes the gaming landscape significantly.
Before each round, a counter on the table shows how many wins the current target hand has accumulated. If the target hand wins, its counter increases by one. If it loses, the counter resets to zero, and a new target hand may be randomly selected for the next shoe segment. Players can place plays on the Player, Banker, or Tie as usual, but they can also place a 'Target Win' side play that pays 2:1 if the target hand wins that round and substantially higher odds (up to 10:1) if it wins three in a row and triggers the bonus round.
The house edge for standard plays remains similar to classic baccarat (around 1.06% for Banker, 1.24% for Player), but the Target Win side play carries a slightly higher edge (approximately 3.5%), making it an exciting addition for those who enjoy chasing streaks.
Success in baccarat variation #9318 requires a mix of traditional baccarat strategy and a keen eye on the target hand counter. Since the target hand changes unpredictably when it loses, one effective approach is to wait until the target hand has already won one or two rounds before gaming on the Target Win side play. This increases the probability of catching the third win and the bonus payout.
Another strategy involves focusing on the Banker play when the target hand is the Banker, as Banker has a slightly lower house edge. However, remember that commission applies. Avoid chasing losses by increasing plays aggressively; instead, set a win limit for the bonus round and quit when you hit it. Since the bonus round offers enhanced payouts, consider using a flat gaming system on the main play while placing small, incremental side plays on the target.
Finally, practice with free online versions of variation #9318 before playing for real money. Many iGaming platforms offer demo modes. Track how often the target hand hits three wins—usually it occurs once in every 15-20 shoes, providing a healthy balance of volatility and reward. Stay disciplined, and this unique baccarat variant can deliver both entertainment and profitable session.
